La Plagne is situated opposite the Mont Blanc mountain range, it reaches 3250m at the Glacier de la Chiaupe, and due to this high altitude it means that La Plagne is pretty much snow-sure all season. It is a vast ski area that now also links over to Les Arcs via the Vanoise Express. There are a vast amount of pistes that are great for a variety of different skiing abilities, there is also some great off-piste especially on the North face of the Bellecote area. There is also a great snow park for all the adrenalin junkies. There is plenty of skiing for beginners but La Plagne is also renowned for being an intermediates paradise, especially on the pistes down to the lower villages, which are through the trees. From Plagne-Centre you can take a lift up to le Biolley, from where you can head back to Centre, to Aime-la Plagne or progress to Montalbert, from where you can head all the way back up. The main lift out Plagne Centre heads up to La Grande Rochette, from here there are some wide intermediate runs and an easy piste back down to Plagne-Bellecote, or you can head over to the Champagny sector, which has fantastic views of the Saulire in Courchevel, there are some lovely long runs here.
